#35: Should we be focusing on 'Health-span' instead of 'Life-span'?

Jonathan Pittam

In this episode we're discussing the question of whether as a society we should move our focus away from increasing our 'lifespan' (duration of life) and onto a focus on increasing our 'healthspan' (duration of life lived without disease)

To discuss this I'm joined by fellow healthy living enthusiast Neill Friedman.  Neill is currently reading for a PhD in biology and health sciences, where his research is focussed on understanding the molecular pathways by which diet affects health. Neill continues to work as a nutrition consultant to organisations and is a director of The BERG F, a not-for-profit social enterprise focused on channelling funds into the development of the independent health science and scientists of the future

We talk about how we got to the current situation re the nation's health, factors keeping us where we are, and how we move forwards
